eLearning Zambia Conference 2008

eLearning Zambia Conference is an attempt to bring all players in Zambia to share experiences and vision of where we should take our country in the area of education and training, how best this can contribute to national development, and how best to achieve that.

eLearning Zambia has been set-up to become an annual event so that we can not only keep the tempo, but to also annually take stock of our progress in relation to the international fast growing electronic developments and associated products and services in the education and training sector.

Last year in March 2007, Zambia successfully held the first ever eLearning conference. The conference was highly attended (see photo below), and attracted participation from primary schools to universities, from NGOs to industry and from quasi government institutions to government ministries. The Zambian public is on a march not to let go of eLearning opportunities. They want to see a successful implementation of this powerful education and training tool.

Parallel to eLearning Zambia, there is also an annual eLearning Africa Conference with rotating venue. The conference started in Ethiopia in 2006, was held in Kenya in 2007, and has been held in Ghana this year (2008). See www.eLearning-Africa.com. Zambia, through a member of the eLearning Zambia Conference Organizing Committee, is a part of the International Organizing Committee of eLearning Africa and will be hosting the conference in 2010. This offers a unique opportunity for Zambia to blend into eLearning events taking place in Africa and beyond.
